Purse Tag

got tagged by Dee to do this...i got excited after reading her blog :) a good break from a stressful day at work...Thanks Dee! :D

here's my bag...Nine West, the one that I've been using for months now. I don't really know how much this costs, this was given to me by my brother on his first year working abroad...he gave my other sister a bag as well. I love this bag, obviously, it looks worn out but I still don't have the intention to replace it...It's the bag that fits my lifestyle the most!


what's inside? A rosary, my Hello Kitty wallet, Hello Kitty coin purse, Hello Kitty card holder (obviously I like Hello Kitty items a lot!), a red purse that secures my cellphones (I've got 4: #1 my personal cellphone, #2 a cellphone issued to me by my employer, #'s 3 & 4 are cellphones I use for selling load...globe and smart :D), a make-up/kikay kit that contains toiletries and my almost-10-year-old hair doctor comb (which I'm really proud of!), vs body spray which I normally alternate with a BnB body spray, Belle de Jour Power planner, my husband's iPod, a ballpen which I got free from an orientation/seminar I attended just recently, a purse that contains keys...office and car, my eyeglasses and a hanky. Good thing I don't have any toys of my son which he sometimes put in without my knowledge :)

An answer to one of my prayers...

a few minutes after lunch today, I received a text message from an unregistered number, casually read the message until it finally sinked into me...my heart beat wildly upon realizing what I just read...

just this day, my father's killer (gunman) was also shot by a policeman in our province. I guess the message came from a close relative in the province, who religiously update us of my father's case...the killer, as I received the message was in the hospital but was being secured by local police. As I required more info, this man has a price on his head for killing so many people even before he killed my father's.

whew...I'm getting mixed emotions here...happy that my father's death will hopefully be given justice...

hopeful, that the killer won't die while being treated in the hospital so that we can extract from him who paid him to kill my father...still hoping that true justice will be given to my father's case...

quite afraid...we might be the next target,as we received this kind of news a few months after my father's death that's why we can't go to the province to really attend to the case...

vengeful...I have an image in mind...that I'm talking face to face with my father's killer.

we need closure, my mom needs closure, I need closure! I wanna ask him why he did this to my father, to us...we have some people in mind, whoever the culprit is, I wanna ask him the big WHY!

thankful...that my prayers are now being answered...the Lord really works mysteriously and according to his pace and time.

it's been two years today that I haven't got into a movie house to watch a movie!

pathetic...

not really, i enjoyed every single moment I spent with my family.

the real reason was that two years ago, I gave birth to our son...since then, me and my husband spend most of our time...free time of course with him.

we can't find it in our hearts to leave him with the yaya while we are enjoying ourselves, either in the movie house or in gimicks

our son is always with us wherever we go...well except for work, though he's been with us a few times already...

but!

there's this upcoming movie...Angels and Demons, which I really want...love to watch...I actually mentioned it already to my husband...told him I've got to watch the movie! (he too want to watch the movie)

Angels and Demons...i love the storyline...got the book some 3 years ago...read it already

i want to see if I'll get the same reaction in the movie as I did reading it...I really hope the actors will give justice to their roles...

excited!...yeah, aside from the fact that it's my favorite book...I'll likewise address an issue we (me and my husband) tried holding back for two years now.

...though haven't thought of how to leave our son yet for the movie :(

it's amazing how a child grow fast

in a few days from now, our son is turning 2

giving birth to him seemed so recent yet whenever i look at him, he's really grown. He's learn so much as well, whether on words or tricks. He knows how to make us smile especially on tiring days

Going home from work is something I'm looking forward to everyday, already imagining him running towards the door to give me a hug or jumping with joy upon seeing us...uttering mommy or please...asking me to carry and cuddle him

Though he's big for his age, I really don't mind the weight whenever I carry him...but I have to admit, my back aches after a few minutes.

He knows some words already, like please, excuse me, happy, sorry, "ate" to call his yaya...He calls his cousin Gaby, Bobby...Lala for Grandma, Moms for Lola Moms...Nini for Uncle Juni, EE for Auntie Sweetie, Umbo for Uncle Bong...cute isn't it?

I really love hearing him call us mommy and daddy...so sweet

he knows some antics as well...tumbling on our bed...jumping like a penguin...connecting all toy cars to appear like a too-toot (train)...he loves reading books...he's got a "camera smile" and the "pogi smile"

family photo album

back when i was still young, i was fond of collecting photos of myself, family and friends...all arranged chronologically

a little bit an old school in this area, i still am in favor of browsing over the pages looking over all pictures, but the idea of organizing photos in cd also works for me

i'm still fond of collecting photos until now except that i'm having difficulty in organizing all of them...i can't decide which ones are to be developed and which ones are to be kept in a cd...

having a family of my own and a bubbly little boy whose every move we would want to take picture of, one can imagine the number of pictures we have on hand...well on file...

i didn't know where to start until we saw this booth in Megamall. What they are into? They organize photos for you!

right there and then, i tried to convince my husband to allow me to order an album from them, which he initially shrug off but because of my insistence, he gave in...

we decided to have the baptism of our son organized...and yes we were satisfied with the outcome and is now deciding on the next photo album to be produced.

although a little bit expensive, the outcome is worth the price. Thanks to the one who thought of this concept...you made my life a little bit more organized.

My (supposed to be) year ender

2008...favorites (random listing...the list is not arranged according to which is the best...just listed them down)

though quite late in posting this blog, I still want to publish this and compare it to my next year's post =)

1. Megamall - still our weekend family-time place.
2. Okuya - a Japanese fast food diner, price: reasonable; quality: quite good :)
3. 88 Store/Daiso - a practical place to shop for household items...gift items are available as well
4. Tom's world/Timezone - we now frequent the place because of our toddler
5. Shopwise, Cubao - although the prices are a bit high, what we appreciate is the orderliness of the store and the store hours which is very convenient to us...it's open 'til 11 pm to those who doesn't know yet...;)
6. Crocs - love the feel on my feet! My son loves it too...will get another pair soon
7. Adopt-A-Tree - Haribon's strategy to bring back the Philippine's denuded forest...the goal is to be able to reforest 1M hectares by year 2020
8. Hello Kitty - (oh well) this will be my lifetime favorite :)
9. Belle de Jour Power Planner - I had one for 2008, I got another for 2009
10. Ton-ton's Thai Massage - a good way of de-stressing and bonding with my husband
11. Bath and Body Sprays - refreshing body sprays! My favorite would be Cucumber Melon for its cool effect and sweet scent.
12. Haribon Foundation - still the organization to which my advocacies are aligned.
13. Flip flops - still my comfy foot companion
14. Bossa Nova music - helps me relax
15. Jogging at UP or Marikina Sports Complex - our family's form of exercise

the year that was...

how was 2008 to me? Fairly well, i guess...

There were bad times...

...trying to get into franchising (a donut store)...but failed :(...this was actually the second application...so maybe franchising isn't for us.

...my father's sickness...he suffered from a liver infection...my mother described him as though he shrunk!...he got well though, whew!

...BUT...he still left...Papang was shot point blank by an unidentified gunman...a hired killer...no lead up to now, almost 6 months already and yet his case isn't solved yet...not moving actually...we don't know where to start, for up to this day, even our mother receives threats as well...what we only know is that the reason behind this is the (evil) person's greed of wanting to share in the properties under my parents' names. BAD!...really BAD!

(I just hope, even up to this moment, that the person who did this to my father is able to sleep peacefully after doing what he did!!!)

but...there were lots of blessings!!!

...my son's 1st birthday...we managed to give out a swimming party for him, spent the whole day with family, relatives and close friends...this is a good one...I know our son enjoyed the day and this will be one of his fondest memory during his childhood days.

...our 2nd year wedding anniversary...me and my husband, as I may say is still very much in love with each other...though there are times when our relationship is being tested, I mean, getting along (and not) with each other, we manage to get through all of tests...making our young relationship stronger. Silently, I know we will both get through more ordeals in the future.

...renovation of the house were we are staying...we are living with my parents...in my maternal grandparents house. This house was built in the 60s and it only had it's first major renovation mid of this year! We have decided to have the house renovated to show our appreciation to my parents who allowed us to stay in this house for free :)...though there are still (more) things to be done with the house, but what we did for it is a good start...changed the ceiling and electrical connections beneath it, double-walled the 2 rooms, screened the sides of the ceiling to ensure no house rats and cats will roam around and wake us up or frighten us with their chase!

...my husband's new car...though it is a second-hand car, we love it! It's a 1995 honda ESI...partly (half) subsidized by the company he's working with...still it's a Honda and it works well! I'm now re-thinking of enrolling (again!) in a driving school so I can drive Esi...we call him Esi as in ESI!...pardon me Kotse Car (our other car, Toyota Corona Silver Ed), I'll drive you as well, promise!

...still holding on to our jobs!...like I was given a certificate of appreciation for the 5-year stay with Haribon Foundation...during hard times, earning a steady income is really a blessing! My husband though is just starting with the company, barely a year but he was able to bring in more bacon from the commissions he made...and again ESI :)

...starting the business...an eatery business in Mendiola...able to manage the daily ins and outs and still deciding to pursue it next year...more thing to do though...

and

...the family's good health...no major sickness, getting through common cold...me, my husband and our son are in the peak of our health!

There were bad times and yet there were better days...I hope next year will be brighter for me and my family, as well as with my (maiden) family, and my husband's...that all of us will always health...that all of us will be able to pursue our personal goals for the coming year...that our father's case be solved...that unresolved issues be given a closure and that all of us will learn from the lessons of 2008.

I wish everyone a prosperous 2009...not just finacially but emotionally, intellectually, physically and spiritually as well.
