On the first day of 2011, I joined Project 365, both of Mommytography and of Sara of Make Music from your Heart to the Lord. Since then, I'm making every effort to post a picture a day. Although, I've missed out some days, I'm still determined to continue this photo blog of mine.

Aside from enjoying the meme, my OC side got over me, thus I've created a new site for my Project 365 called Hahai's 365 Photoblog.

Project 365: A rainy and gloomy week 3 (#'s16-22)

I'm sharing with you my third week on Project 365. This week was rainy and gloomy this side of the globe. Weird weather condition, we're having heavy rains in January! The reason why we're all having one heck of a colds lol!

One cold January night.
We're having a pajama pictorial.
Took photos of my children in their
"cold" pajamas
and this one with me and my husband.
We're usually in tees and shorts at home
but this evening was too cold for us.

Wednesday: January 19

You bet! after hot days, rainy afternoons and cold nights
we all went down with colds - stuffy nose and dry itchy cough :<
we had to bring our children to their pedia for proper medication.
Maia got rashes, I hoped and pray it wasn't Measles.
good thing it wasn't.

Project 365/*17: Reporting for work

It's Monday once again and Leon has this Monday separation anxiety since I went back to work from the 2-week long Christmas break. I just can't help seeing him helpless, crying and begging me to just stay at home. Instead I brought him to office today.

With him around would just mean conquering my office computer as well. Here's some photos of Leon enjoying and excited about the game he is playing on line. (yeah! my son is a victim of technology at the age of 3 lol!)

Project 365/12: Yellow Vented Bulbul

Have you heard of the Yellow Vented Bulbul?

As mentioned previously, one of my top advocacy is on the environment. I my work, we are into environmental conservation and preservation. Some of the activities we are offering to our members and even to us employees of Haribon Foundation is geared to admire nature as it best in its natural state or being. One of our activities is birdwatching and we do it even in the urban setting. Yes! we can do birdwatching in Metro Manila! Though in some specific areas only.

I've been joining the activity as a birder and as a trainee to be a bird guide. And I'm proud to say that I've learned quite a bit. In Metro Manila we often see those brown colored birds and often we conclude that it's the Maya or the Eurasian Tree Sparrow. But as what I've learned, there are at least 4 species of birds with the same color shade.

...and here's one, introducing to you the Yellow Vented Bulbul or the Pycnonotus goiavier. It is a resident of the South East Asia and is common in the Philippines. It is found in open habitat but not in forest areas. It is small, though a little bigger than the common Maya, with black streak on the eye part and a yellow under tail coverts, thus yellow-vented.

So when you see one in the vicinity, check twice, it might not be the Maya that's visiting your trees...say hi to the yellow vented bulbul ;)
